We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded $10,000 through the Art Builds Community Grant from the Florida Keys Council of the Arts. The project is entitled Creating a Naturalist Experience in the Florida Keys Community and is aimed at building cultural equity in the Upper Keys.
This partnership will engage our local community in the enjoyment and cultural building experience of artistic expression while also increasing the connection with the very life blood of the Key’s special ecosystem that draws so many people to it.
With this grant, Florida Bay Forever is able to offer an enriching naturalist experience that can benefit all Keys residents. In partnership with local professional scientists and artists, we will provide guided tours that will cover the three main natural coastal habitats found in the Keys at the Green Turtle Hammock Nature Preserve followed by mentored classes in art and writing techniques.
