At their March board meeting, the Florida Bay Forever board of directors voted to install Islamorada resident Vivian Morrison to the board. Vivian comes to this role as an experienced non-profit professional with extensive background in civic engagement and donor relations.

“Vivian is a passionate advocate for the Everglades whose previous experience and commitment to the cause make her an ideal candidate for the board,” said Executive Director Emma Haydocy. Vivian has previously served as Director of Outreach for the Everglades Foundation and the Director of Community Relations with the University of Miami.

Volunteer service has been an important part of her life throughout her career. She has served on a wide range nonprofit boards and special event committees working with local, regional and national organizations. Vivian was recently named an “Unsung Hero” by the Florida Keys History and Discovery Center where she has been a volunteer for over three years.

“Florida Bay Forever is leading the charge to hold our lawmakers accountable and ensure the long-term health of the bay,” said Vivian of her installation. “It’s an honor to be included among such a dedicated group of individuals.“
